Logic clues

Strategy card

Logic asks what MUST be true, not what might be.

  1. Step 1: Write each clue in short form (A > B).
  2. Step 2: Combine clues to make new facts.
  3. Step 3: Test each answer: is it always true, or only maybe?
  4. Step 4: Choose the one that must be true.

Tip: "Some" and "all" are different. Read them carefully.

Worked example

Who is the shortest?

Ana is shorter than Lena.

Ivy is taller than Kai.

Kai is taller than Lena.

  • A: Lena
  • B: Ana (the answer)
  • C: Kai
  • D: Ivy

Why: Put them in order from tallest to shortest: Ivy, Kai, Lena, Ana. So the answer is Ana.
