Logic clues

Strategy card

Logic asks what MUST be true, not what might be.

  1. Step 1: Write each clue in short form (A > B).
  2. Step 2: Combine clues to make new facts.
  3. Step 3: Test each answer: is it always true, or only maybe?
  4. Step 4: Choose the one that must be true.

Tip: "Some" and "all" are different. Read them carefully.

Worked example

In a secret code, DOG is written as FQI. How is RUG written in the same code?

  • A: UXJ
  • B: SVH
  • C: PSE
  • D: IWT
  • E: TWI (the answer)

Why: Each letter moves 2 later in the alphabet (D → F). So RUG becomes TWI.
