How the practice exams work
Gifted & reasoning test practice
Practice in the style of school gifted and reasoning tests such as CogAT, NNAT and OLSAT: separate verbal, quantitative and nonverbal sections.
Pre-K to Grade 8
State-test-style math & reading
Practice in the style of end-of-year state tests: a math section and a reading section with short passages, set to the grade.
Grades 3 to 12
End-of-year grade review
A mixed review of the grade: math, reading and reasoning (numbers and thinking for Pre-K and K).
Pre-K to Grade 12
- Real length, in sections. Each section has its own countdown, and the next section starts when time is up.
- Timing by age. Pre-K to Grade 2 get a gentle timer (a friendly progress bar with a pause button) or no timer. From Grade 3 the timing is full, and parents can turn on 1.5× extra time.
- No hints during the exam. Answers and step-by-step explanations come in the review at the end.
- A results report. Section scores, pacing (time per question and where time ran out), the weakest skills, a one-click follow-up practice set, and a trend across attempts. Reports print cleanly.
- Goals. Set an exam type and a date for each child to get a countdown plan with weekly targets and which sections to practice first. It shows on the child's dashboard.
- Check the explanation. After each exam, children check one explanation the way they would check an AI's answer.
- Keyboard friendly. Answer with A–E or 1–5 and move with the arrow keys; the timer is labelled for screen readers.
Results are practice feedback to guide what to work on next. They are not official scores, and they do not predict admission, placement or IQ.
