Number patterns

Strategy card

In a number pattern, the jumps follow a rule.

  1. Step 1: Look at the first two numbers. How far is the jump?
  2. Step 2: Check the next jump. Is it the same?
  3. Step 3: Make the same jump from the last number.
  4. Step 4: Count on your fingers or a number line to check.

Tip: Write the jumps above the numbers: +2, +2, +2.
